Julie riding Major

Julie has been around horses since her childhood (Julie grew up in Akron, Colorado and attended school there until she was 16). Her parents bought she and her sister ponies when they were just 3 years old. By the age of 4, Julie was riding her little welsh pony all by herself at a walk/Trot/canter and also at full speed. Growing up, they always rode without saddles most of the time. There were times we fell off, but we just got right back on. By the age of 8, she joined 4-H and competed in Halter shows, Western Pleasure, Trail class, Barrels and pole bending. She placed in her events most every year and won many ribbons. By the time she was 12, she had her first BIG horse!! A QH gelding named Docali. His grandfather was the legendary DOC BAR. When she first had Doc, he was only broke to tie, lead and stand for feet trimming. The first summer Julie had him, she decided that she was just going to get on and ride him. He was 4 years old that year and was ready to break. She rode him most every day that summer along with her friend Kate and Kate's horse named Leo. By the end of the summer, Julie took Doc to the fair and competed him in the usual events that she does and won many ribbons!! He did AWESOME! She even rode him in the parade and he walked through it as if he was riding in parades for years.  At the age of 16, she had to sell her horses because the family was moving 2 states away and it was easier to move without the horses.

The year 2000 came around and Julie was 29 years old then and she wanted really bad to have a horse again. At that age, she was all grown up and out on her own and she could afford a horse and the cost of boarding. She purchased a Thoroughbred mare named Major and started to take dressage lessons. She wanted to get away from the western riding style and gear towards english riding. Mostly Dressage. Ever since she saw the Lipizzaner Stallions, she knew that she wanted to make that her foundation on all her horses. It is a beautiful partnership between horse and rider. Things sky rocketed from there for Julie and 4 years later, she has her own place now and is breeding and raising fine sport horses for dressage and jumping. That is where we are now with RVF. Julie will still continue to seek instruction in dressage and will next year hopefully start in jumping as well.

For the past 6 years, Julie has been researching bloodlines (almost daily) of the top German (Hanoverian, Oldenburg, Holstein and Westphalian) and also including the Swedish warmblood horses from Sweden. Searching for stallions and mares that have impeccable performance careers and whose get are also excelling. Horses that are known through out the world and especially in the jumping and dressage world. Julie started on this quest to try to breed for herself one day an exceptional riding horse.
